1st Annual MS Miles of Smiles Race
The 1st Annual Miles of Smiles 5 Mile Run and Walk was held to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Race Coordinator Ellen Stewart organized the event in honor of her friend Denise who was diagnosed with MS eleven years ago. The race took place Sunday May 18, 2008 in North Park. Despite the rain there were over 200 people who participated along with many volunteers. Through many sponsors as well as participants and donors a total of $19,764.80 was raised! Now that’s enough to make everyone Smile!
The 1st Annual Miles of Smiles 5 Mile Run and Walk was featured in the CONNECTION Newsletter (1/2008) of the Allegheny District Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Race Details:
A flat and rolling 5 mile course around North Park Lake on paved roads, beginning and ending at the Boathouse. An approx. 1 mile run/walk for all ages and disabilities is available as well.
